Few could ever question Calder Cannons' Paul Pascu's competitiveness, with the strong defender/midfielder a player who leaves nothing out on the field each and every week. A readymade player in terms of his size and strength - standing at 183cm and 86kg - Pascu will have no worries going head-to-head against bigger bodies, it will all be a matter of ironing out the other areas of his game in order to fit in. He is a consistent player, but one who can further build on a number of areas.

Pascu is a midfielder who eventually settled into defence this year with the Cannons, and will compete each and every time he goes out there. Possessing a knack for putting his body on the line and winning the contested ball, Pascu just cracks in even when everyone around him is tiring. He is a player that might be suited to a lockdown role at the top level, because his dedication to the team and accountability is as high as anyone running around.

Pascu does have plenty to work on though, with his kicking an area that run him into trouble, particularly when looking to switch play into the corridor and it holds up a little or the execution is not on point. Further more, he is not the most explosive athlete, and while he is not slow, could improve there. A readymade physical player who has areas to work on.
