STRENGTHS: Decision-making, ball handling, pace, skill, aggression
IMPROVEMENTS: Endurance, consistency
SUMMARY: Ethan Hansen is a medium-sized midfielder who is aggressive in the contest, but also has the class to deliver on the outside. He uses his big frame to barge himself into congestion and win the ball for his team, then uses his pace to burst away from the opposition before lacing out a team-mate in the open. In 11 games for Perth’s Colts team, Hansen averaged 18 possessions, three marks and three tackles, with notable performances against East Fremantle (22 possessions, four marks, three inside 50s and a goal), Swan Districts (22 possessions, seven tackles, four inside 50s and a goal) and West Perth (20 possessions, six marks and four tackles). In two games for WA, Hansen averaged 18 possessions, five marks and three tackles with his best game coming against the Allies (20 possessions and seven marks). A couple of knocks on him are his endurance and his consistency within games and during a season, however in a professional environment expect these to improve.
