Vic Metro claims fourth title at National Inclusion Carnival

VIC Metro has claimed its fourth consecutive AFL National Inclusion Carnival premiership, going through the competition undefeated. Metro earned a spot in the Division 1 grade after claiming all seven wins in the Lightning Premiership carnival to finish ahead of South Australia, Vic Country and Queensland who also reached the top division for the next round. Northern Territory, Western Australia, Tasmania and NSW/ACT were sorted into Division 2.

Held annually, the AFL National Inclusion Carnival brings together footballers with an intellectual disability from across the country to take part in a round-robin carnival with teams representing the Northern Territory, NSW/ACT, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria Country, Victoria Metro, and Western Australia.

The Metro side was clearly the dominant team throughout the carnival, booting 10 goals in every match and earning the title of premiers. South Australia finished second overall, winning every match bar its clashes with Vic Metro, while Vic Country finished third and Queensland in fourth.

In Division 2, Western Australia claimed top spot from Northern Territory who actually defeated the top side, but went down to NSW/ACT. The Rams finished the carnival strongly, collecting that win and defeating Tasmania on the final day, after the Mariners had won in their earlier encounter.
