Rising Stars coverage kicking off in 2014

After a successful 2013 TAC Cup season, the Rising Stars team is back again to provide the most comprehensive coverage of the under 18 competition. Last year Bound For Glory News gave readers weekend wraps of the TAC Cup as well as telling interviews, player profiles and statistical data not provided anywhere else. This year the coverage will be amped up with some fresh faces, including Paige Cardona from SuperCoach Paige.

In 2014, readers can expect everything they received last year and more. Along with the TAC Cup weekly wraps, we’ll keep you informed across the major state leagues: VFL, SANFL and WAFL as well as any major stories out of the other smaller state leagues from Tasmania to the Northern Territory.

New to Rising Stars this year will be ‘AFL Bloodlines’ – an article that reviews under 18s who have ties to those playing AFL or have previously played AFL. From potential father-sons selections to brothers or cousins in the TAC Cup, the Rising Stars team will keep you informed.

Returning in 2014 will be Alex Takle’s ‘Power Rankings’ which will be regularly updated for readers to see which under 18s are statistically performing across not only the TAC Cup, but in the SANFL, WAFL and VFL as well.

Along with the ‘Power Rankings’ will be the Rising Stars Medal which was taken out by Geelong Falcons young gun Lewis Taylor who went on to be selected by the Brisbane Lions and made his debut in the opening round of the AFL season. Our team will give 5-4-3-2-1 votes for each match with the winner at the end of the season receiving the prestigious medal.

While the player profiles will be a feature of the Bound For Glory News coverage, they will be more detailed and extensive than ever before with an intricate knowledge from the team that will make you feel like you’ve watched those players yourself.

Finally, there will be a weekly feature or opinion piece that will be based around the under 18s, which will delve into the most important issues of the week. Aside from this, the interviews with players, coaches, staff and officials will make this year’s coverage the best you can find.

While 2013 was a huge year for the Rising Stars team and the TAC Cup as a whole, 2014 will bring plenty of fresh faces, new content and a larger knowledge base that will provide readers with everything they need to know ahead of the 2014 national, pre-season and rookie drafts. It all kicks off on Monday with the conclusion of the TAC Cup Metro round.
