SUMMARY: Our observations on Ryan Gilmore's performances this year are almost like a broken record - attacks the ball hard at top speed, cleanly. He is a player who does not accumulate a heap of the football, and his kicking can sometimes be inconsistent, but he has those great, raw aspects to his game that the Suns would be impressed with developing. He clocked up 2.98 seconds in the 20m sprint at the Rookie Me Combine, showing off that trademark acceleration that he showed off during the National Under 18 Championships. Gilmore's ability to not only attack the pill at full speed, but show great courage and clean hands to scoop it up and keep up the high-level speed is what makes him an interesting prospect in defence. It was also noted Gilmore does all the defensive things right with one percenters not always on the stats sheet such as shepherds, blocks and bumps. Overall he is still a developing prospect but has good upside for the future.
